At Southside Dental Care, we understand that the foundation for a joyful and radiant smile begins with a robust oral health regime. The significance of upholding your oral health cannot be overstated, as it serves as a vital safeguard against gum disease and tooth decay, while also contributing to your overall well-being. Numerous scientific studies have underscored the profound connection between gum disease and a spectrum of medical conditions, including strokes, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, bacterial lung infections, and more.
In our commitment to your oral health, we are proud to provide Guided Biofilm Therapy delivered by our dedicated in-house Hygiene team*.
Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) is the latest in Hygiene technology. This innovative procedure employs state-of-the-art techniques to remove dental plaque, stains and biofilm from the teeth. The system uses a combination of advanced tools and technologies, including airflow devices, to create a powerful yet gentle cleaning experience that effectively manages biofilm without the discomfort often associated with traditional hygiene methods.
With GBT, our Hygiene team uses a dye to disclose biofilm, ensuring that all areas needing attention are addressed. The airflow device used in GBT is gentler and more precise than traditional polishing methods, reducing the risk of enamel and soft tissue damage which makes the experience more comfortable for patients, especially those with sensitive teeth.
